People like him are rare to find, more then ever these days

If I could choose someone to talk from history, I would surely choose Richard Feynman

Great Spirit!

@FistfullaBerries Very much so! I remember his plain folksy style of pointing out why the Space Shuttle was destroyed in 1986. It could have been a plumber explaining it and yet it happened to be one a handful of the great minds ever to grace our planet!

well said

He meant that "a pain in the ass" is not too academic to say so he said "a pain in the neck".

0:41 Great summary of why honors aren't worth much compared to the satisfaction of doing (and having done) the work that others wish to honor. Still, Feynman could have thanked the Committee for providing prize money which is extra money to be used for further research (with no strings attached e.g. military research funding). Nevertheless, fabulously honest reaction to the counterproductive, class-based and elitism aspects of honorary memberships.

I just started my major in astrophysics and, even though I haven't experienced any of the honors of being a physicist, I feel the same way. The world focuses too much on statuses and not on what's really important.
I miss him.
