Hans has done exceptionally well to capture the pattern in his photographs but you will need to enlarge the pictures to appreciate the detail.

Our view is that Lindstrand is still undervalued, and engraved glass in general is undervalued. There is a tremendous amount of skill and time invested in this piece. It couldn't be replicated today for this price, nor could the skill involved easily be found.

Lindstrand came to Kosta in 1950 and found a glassmaking community, including an engraving department, who depended on his talent to keep them employed. This was at a time when the market for engraved glass, in particular, was receding. This is an example of the new lighter style of engraving introduced by Lindstrand with the employment of Rune Strand.
