@EMTSRT let all those armchair firemen cry about what they want to. i say you did a dam good job with what you had. some of guys would rather let something burn while waiting on water truck, ladder trucks, tankers and all the rest instead of just putting the damm fire out. GOOD JOB

Aren't you supposed to put boards over the windows AFTER the fire?

fightin fire with a boster reel done that before

First off, Great job. Looks like ya don't have much and yous did all you could. Constructive Criticism- try to get some PW's on your rig maybe? 5 gallons in the right hands can make a big diff. And that sucks that the county won't let you use their rigs. Do some research, go to the mtg's. Find out what you can do for them in exchange for that service..i dunno. Again, nice work!

The inside is probably a maze.

Wow... what a junkyard!
-
Thats not fully involved its still in growth fase theres alot of unburned material

Fully invovled?? deffinatley not. Not being rude or anything but, in my department, this would be an offnesive fire. First things first, 360!!! Most important thing for a first on scene unit. I would have made entry through the back or the side of the house, and contained the fire to that origin. Attacking it from the front is basically pushing the fire back into the house. But u did good with the limited resources you had.
Thanks Super Firefighter. I'm sure you dont make mistakes.

the call came in as a structure fire. I am employed by our county EMS service which is full time paid. The fire depts in this county are all volunteer. So I dont have the privledge of choosing to drive a fire truck to a fire. Even though they are in the same truck bay! It sucks but the county doesnt let us. Hope that clears it up why I went to a structure fire on a medical rig.

yes the ff's that made entry, including myself, had on SCBA. The crash rescue truck is full time. and the first truck had 500 gallons and the second one had 750.

The line I used on knock down was a 1-3/4" line from the first arriving brush truck. No there wasn't an Engine on scene nor was there one en route! Guys, this is very rural. This county is all volunteer! They do great with the equipment they have!

Calling it FULLY involved may have an exaggeration on my part. My bad! The truck I was on is a BLS crash rescue truck so, no, no firefighting tools.
