NirugK: Yes, but if you ever listen to the Ave Maria (there are two different versions), it starts out with the beginning of this piece, and it plays it throughout in the back ground. I have it by Karen Carpendar, and others.

when i wrote this comment i only knew the version of gould, and it sounds just perfect without pedal. but when i recently sat down and played it myself, i saw that it can also sound very good with pedal. but i still would not use nearly as much pedal for it as she does in her video, it sounds more like chopin than bach ;-)
besides: what the *** are you talking about? 'Ave Maria'??? this piece is and remains preludium I of bachs well tempered klavier.

NijugK: I disagree for this one because this is the Ave Maria accompaniment. You need the pedal for this. Besides, using the pedal is subjective; therefore, your not wanting to pedal doesn't mean someone else doesn't.

lapetitefugue: Very beautifully done. I also play this with the pedal, and I'm sure everyone on YouTube does.
;)
very beautifully played, i like it!
but i recommend you to play it without pedals, please!! Bach is not supposed to be played with pedals, it always sounds so mushy then. (listen to glenn gould playing it, then you will se how it ought to be played)
but beside that its cool :- )
