  • This video installation is amazing, the atmosphere is so surreal and intense. One of my favourite video artists.

  • @jackdaknife

sometimes art is not about understanding, but simply to give a reaction to the public. Aitken want to mix common and unfamilliar subjects together to let us enter kind of a special environement.

some people love to watch old classic paintings because they are beautiful. a few artists are trying to get the same reaction, but they use video or sound.

hope i help, sorry english is not my best.

  • It's so surreal how comfortable and calm wild animals act in the modern environment! It reflects the idea that people are >migrating>> to the wild places and making it modern; so animals have no choice - they loose their natural habitat - and now they are living in those modern houses like in their own.

This video installation inspired me a lot..

  • Thank you - beautiful - it catches my eyes

  • @Horace01 I believe he is making a commentary on the transient (eg hotel rooms) nature (pardon the pun) of modern society. Do you get it? by oddly placing wild animals in such unnatural settings, he is abstracting human nature.

  • HORSES DOESN'T BELONGED INSIDE THE HOUSE THATS WHY ITS ART. WHY IS HORSE INSIDE HOUSE WATCHING HORSE VIDEOS? ASK THAT QUESTION TO YOUR HEART AND THAN IT IS ART. Thumbs up your own butt if you believe in the power of art.

  • This is the best piece of video art that I've ever seen (at Art Basel), ever. I'd pay a lot of money to just own a couple of stills, I love it that much. It's a sublime piece of art.

  • just saw this at Istanbul Modern ... youtube video only scratches the surface--see it LIVE ...am living in Qatar and wish that this installation would visit the Islamic Museum in Doha. It's absolutely essential for people there to get in touch with animals the way Doug has allowed in these careful, lingering vignettes... please, Doug, if you read this consider. I think they'd be open, they feature European art. It was really one of the most memorable installations I've ever seen-- Incredible.

  • I was transfixed. especially the owl

  • Aww So Cute!

  • it´s cool. very special but cool. it´s really helpful for one of my projects for studies. very inspiring :)
