Rational Recovery founder Jack Trimpey's 'The Small Book' is one of the two best books I've ever read on recovery. The other is James Christopher's 'SOS Sobriety: The Proven Alternative to 12-Step Programs.' Also, I highly recommend reading Trimpey's mentor, Dr. Albert Ellis. Ellis started a school of psychotherapy called Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy; Trimpey applied Ellis' treatment techniques specifically to substance abuse. Read Ellis' 'A New Guide to Rational Living.' Good stuff.
@MIKEPRESL That sounds great! How are you doing at this point? Still sober? I've been battling my drinking for years, and as an atheist I have no intention to try A.A. again. I just heard about R.R. today. Anything you'd care to share would be greatly appreciated.
Rational recovery is so awesome!Sober 6 months now(longest ever)and it is so easy.Drinking is no longer a thought for me and if it ever is.I now have the tools to never drink again
I started juicing and making raw smoothies... But I have to find more easy recipes to snack on and stuff... I seem to do really well at eating raw during the day but at night I get evil cravings for take out... I need to work on it more and your videos definitely help... thx Penni...
Thanks Penny, I love your positive attitude. Great video. If you get up in the morning and say, I'm just going to try and live healthy. That can take you really far.
