ummm is there any thing stopping water getting in that hole where the steering cable goes into the inside of the engine well on the boat

I use general purpose yellow buttery stuff from walmart. Seems to work, moly crap is baddddd dont use and white marine grease really bad idea had my steering seize on another boat of mine. How does that mercury grease compare stuff im using
