A Jonas Brothers Love Story chapter 11

Kat: We'll be there in about 10 minutes.
"Good."
-End Regina's POV-

-Joe's POV-
She stopped playing guitar hero after only 3 songs. I told her over and over that the drive from Danishtown (lol made it up) to here was at least an hour to get here. She had said something about needing to be ready to get out there when they arrived and stood at the window. She was standing completely still and if I didn't know any better I would think she was a statue. "Jazz?"
Jazz: Hmm?
"You can come sit on the couch if you want. It's only been 15 minutes since they called you."
Jazz: No... No I'll stay here. *she patted Crystal's head once and then became still again*
There had to be some way to talk some sense into her. I couldn't let her stand there for almost an hour. "Jazz... You know they won't arrive for at least--"
Jazz: That's Kat's car! *sprints outside*
Of course.
Jazz: Kat! Regina! Aly! Oh my gosh! What happened???
I went out after her when I heard that strange tone of voice. She sounded slightly disgusted, slightly terrified and slightly protective. Strange combination.
-End Joe's POV-

-Jazz's POV-
"Kat! Regina! Aly!" Then I saw the marks on Regina's face. The scratches alone Kat's arms. And the strange way Aly was holding her arm. "Oh my gosh! What happened???" I heard Joe run out behind me, but I finally had found the way to ignore his presence. I was terrified for my friends. I was disgusted at how their parents could have treated them like this. And I wanted to go back and tear them limb from limb. I couldn't pay attention to the way Joe's hair was swaying slightly as he hurried over, or how he grabbed all of the girls' bags in his strong arms. Oops. I was thinking about it.
Kat: I don't know what brought it on this time.
Regina: They just started screaming at how we were disappointments.
Aly: And then they started hitting us.
Regina: And Kat jumped in the way when they started getting really bad. I ran to the closet and Aly ran to my room.
Kat: I followed Aly and locked the door.
Regina: I called you.
Aly: I was so scared when Regina knocked on the door, but Kat recognized our code and let her in. She told us that you agreed to help.
Kat: I can't thank you enough. I really can't.
"Of course I helped! I wasn't going to just stand by knowing that you were in trouble. Come on, I'll show you inside." I turned to follow Joe into the house and I saw trouble instantly. Craig. Outside the house watching us. "Joe.... Why don't you let us carry those bags." I knew for a fact that Joe was stronger than all of us.
Joe: *notices Craig as well* You don't mind, do you ladies?
Of course they said not at all. His voice was just so... Oh crap I really need to focus!!
Joe: You have the key, right Jazz?
"Yeah. Right here." I held the key up and Joe started walking toward the house.
Joe: What are you doing here Craig? This is private property.
Craig: I'm just here to welcome in these 3 lovely ladies. *his eyes traveled over Kat, Regina and Aly. His expression looked hungry and I was disgusted*
"Get lost Craig. They don't want you to be welcoming them. And this is my property. If you stay here any longer, I'm calling the police." I hoped that I had managed the right amount of hardness in my voice to make him listen.
Craig: You don't live here no more. You can't call it your property.
Apparently not.
Joe: Whether or not she lives here, the property is in her name. So get lost before I call the cops.
Craig: I don't think I will. *staring at Regina and Aly* I think I'll stay a little while longer and talk to these girls.
Kat: *notices the look in his eyes and drops her bags* You want to stay, you deal with me.
Got to admit, those years and years of karate lessons helped make Kat look quite intimidating. And it worked, Craig took one last look at the twins and left.
Joe: Thanks for helping out. And Sorry about him. As long as you stay out of his way, you'll be fine.
Then something struck me. "Are you guys going to enroll in the school here?"
Kat: I'll take care of that. We have enough money and we can get jobs. I'm not letting them drop out.
"What about you? You should be going to college."
Kat: I don't have to go to college to get a decent job. I might go in a few years... but not now.
Joe: That's like my brother. He's trying to convince my parents to let him leave his college before the second semester. He would rather do something before he goes there.
Why would Joe bring Kevin up? What good does that do? It would surely be better if we got Kat to go to a college so she would be able to get the best job she possibly could... wouldn't it? Won't Regina and Aly need her to do that for them? "Come on, I'll show you inside."
