The sights sounds and rhythms of the Severn Valley village of Arley north Worcestershire featuring the Severn Valley Railway, an angle grinder and a guinea fowl in an everyday tale of country folk.
The manor of UPPER ARLEY was given to the college of Wolverhampton by Wulfrun, the founder, about 996.
The Severn Valley line was built between 1858 and 1862, and linked Hartlebury, near Droitwich, with Shrewsbury, a distance of 40 miles. The important intermediate stations were Stourport-on-Severn, Bewdley, Arley, Highley, Hampton Loade, Bridgnorth, Coalport, Ironbridge, Buildwas, Cressage and Berrington.
