  • The location of this sub was kept quiet for many years, so scavengers have not had the opportunity to take artifacts. It also rests in an area this is not always easy to get to due to sea conditons. Thank you for watching my video.

    My grandfather Harry Kane sunk this submarine in the summer of 1942 and received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his actions. The captain of U701 was Horst Degen. The two men developed a friendship after the attack including a visit to Germany in the 70's.
