Thank you for sharing this video.
My grandfather Harry Kane sunk this submarine in the summer of 1942 and received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his actions. The captain of U701 was Horst Degen. The two men developed a friendship after the attack including a visit to Germany in the 70's.
You can read more information on the Dive Hattaras website under U-701.
I was recently SCUBA certified and I am hope to be able to dive this wreck one day.
Again, thank you for sharing.

Really great footage. Amazed at the condition after all these years under the sea. Thanks for uploading it.

good stuff, I just got stationed at Bragg from Drum, and I look forward to diving here instead of the St Lawerence! Whats the depth of this dive? Is it below 90'?

Can you as a diver to enter the u-boot or is this too dangerous.
The location of this sub was kept quiet for many years, so scavengers have not had the opportunity to take artifacts. It also rests in an area this is not always easy to get to due to sea conditons. Thank you for watching my video.
