Wonderful. The Folk Tradition is Alive & Well and now traveling the World via Cyberspace. Born of humble beginnings, my little song was written on the deck of an Australian Prawn Trawler in 1979. I remain proud and truly amazed at it's evolution into a Sea Shanty performed & enjoyed by so many around the Globe. To ALL the lovers of of such songs & the harmonies performed in the company of your good friends, I wish you well. Keep singing & keep laughing. Cheers. Barry Skipsey NT Australia mate.
So fun! Barry Skipsey, an Australian wrote the song, then was borrowed by the Rocky Mountain Bush Band, then was borrowed by De Boukaniers, then Bounding Main borrowed it from them, and no doubt the chain will continue.
