  • She's very pretty in this scene!! :)

  • My favourite so far (out of the Dessay-ones too)! Dessay's Zerbinetta is hard to beat!

  • Oh! Where's the rest of it?! I came across this aria in a book for the first time a couple of days ago -happily perusing the singers! :) Dessay is my first shot!

  • roles that portray a garish clown are the best suited for Dessay since she doesn't have to act and just plays herself.

  • There are not many singers who could do this role as convincingly and attractively. Maybe none.

  • @rlee1976 No, she just diagnosed on September 11th, I believe.

  • This was before Voigt's surgery and after Dessay's first vocal cord surgery... to be more clear.

  • Respond to this video... Sorry, my correction, this was April 3, 2003, my birthday, I was there!

  • @orionblabla

Yes, the operation was done on 9/11/01 (not a joke, she actually had it done the same day as 9/11). This was March 2003. I was there at this very same performance!

  • @orionblabla I believe that the Covent Garden "black dress" flap didn't happen for another year, if I recall correctly. It was after that that Voigt had the surgery.

  • Thank you a LOT!
