I thought she was an "expert" on energy. This lady is so NOT ready to lead. She knows NOTHING! There is no ban on oil exports. What a dummy. She sends chills up and down my spine. I cannot wait until we have a competent leader so we can feel safe. No more Joe 6 pack disasters! Florida is going BLUE! We got 10:1 Obama today. People aren't all as dumb as the Repugs in the Palin videos. YIKES@
idiot Palin suggested some of Alaska's oil, in fact, may be going abroad but not that much. She said, in fact, Congress is pretty strict on export bans. But according to the Energy Information Administration and the Congressional Research Service, no Alaska oil has been exported since 2004, and little if any since 2000. And Congress has never imposed outright bans on oil exports.
A record 1.6 million barrels a day in US refined petro products were exported during the first four months of 2008, up 33 percent from 1.2 million barrels a day over the same period in 2007. Shipments in this Feb topped 1.8 mill barrels a day for the first time during any month, according to the Energy Department.
The surge in exports appears to contradict the pleas from the U.S. oil industry and the Bush Admin for Congress to open more offshore waters and ANWR to drilling.
There's no way the people in this audience hear an "answer" like this and are satisfied. Sad that many will still accept it though, because the real answer is painful as hell.
