On page 303 of my version of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, Dr. Atkins issues a stern warning about all diets, including the Atkins diet, and their tendency to slow down thyroid function. This is a serious clinical problem that results in countless health problems - from constipation to falling hair to amenhorrea, and is, according to Atkins, diagnosed based on symptoms and a low basal body temperature. Diets are dangerous!

  • I'll sum it for all the tards that don't get it. WTF could be wrong with limiting, even eleminating refined carbs (processed food) and sugar? Huh?! You tell me that! This IS a quote from one of Atkins' books and fact as far as I can tell from my research- take any society in the history of the world and flip forward 20 years from the introduction of refined carbs and sugar and what do you find? Diabetes, Cancer, etc. Even if it was there prior, it is greatly increased. I rest my case!

    Quit eating sugar. Lower your bread by 80%.

    It's logical, it fits into the evolutionary paradigm, and I'm never hungry.

  • hey Matt!! Well Done For This GREAT video!! who cares if your phone was ringing?? I wish i did see tgis video last year just after Easter when i went low carb.. i only gained weight and then stopped this MadNess low carb this year in june.. loving what u teach!!

  • Low carb isn't all meat. I eat a lot of cheese, salad and other nonstarchy veggies too. Everything has dangers..over --> there is a video warning about olive oil lol. You take forever to get to the point and your phone ringing annoyed me, this video should have a health warning.

  • @threebobs yes body temp is very very important!! u should check your temp and paulse.. looseing weight on atkins doesnt make u healthy!! sugar is not a problem!! starchy foods in high ammount are and polyunsaturated fats are .. glucose from food is necessary to convert t4 into Active T3. read science by Broda Barnes and Ray Peat!! All the best!!

  • This is worse then religious radicals taking the words from the Bible and twisting them into what they WANT them to mean. I have done a lot of research on this hence the 666 in my name.

    (Please NOTE THE SARCASM, I am not a religious scholar, devil worshiper, nor Bible basher - just like this egotistical douche is not a doctor or dietician.) I am however proof that 20 pounds can be lost in one month on Atkins and I have kept it off with very little effort for the past 3 months.
