I am also a native Houstonian, and I remember $OTC being on KPRC in 1984-85, unless it was the syndicated version they showed.

I liked Sale of the entury for its Shopping Game. That Shopping Game made Sale of the Century the Great Game Show it is Today.

Hey, Mitt, when did you actually start working for Reg Grundy Productions, and when did you do your internship at KPRC?

Why did KPRC wait until 1988 to air Sale of the Century? More importantly, if KPRC did preempt Sale, wouldn't NBC have been able to find an alternate station to air Sale? Clearly, Sale wouldn't be left out of a major market like Houston.

Good question, I wondered about this myself. KPRC was sold to Post Newsweek, and fast signed back to the NBC lineup under different ownership in 88, and thus popped up on NBC's affiliate relations new viewers list....so it was always there....paperwork, paperwork.

Thanks! I had just finished my internship at KPRC when I got this job, so it was doubly fun to hear Jim mention me and the station I worked at. Jim occasionally plugged new stations.
