I remember watching this on TV when I was a teenager. Simply and funny comedy. Much better than some of the corrent TV shows.

@mcwolfus, he says "this was long before the search for Bridey Murphy". It's a 1950's pop culture reference. The Search for Bridey Murphy was a goofy book (and I think also a film by this time) about hypnosis revealing a woman's "past life" experiences. The big laugh, I gather, comes from his interjecting such a low-brow note into his riff on Freudian theory.

The character actor playing"The Beast"..the tough,no nonsense Sgt. was George Mathews..who I met before he died.
