First my little eclectus parrot fights with his new toy to scrape some food out from inside the hanging log. Next he climbs down and feeds his own reflection, regurgitating onto the side of his own bowl. Created the video for the sole purpose of testing out the new YouTube editor. It's pretty slick.

  • eclectuses aren't "bulimic" they throw up on toys and other things they really enjoy. he is most likely confusing his reflection as being another bird, and then trying to feed it. my eclectus feeds my ring neck parrot ALL THE TIME. lol

  • @discodreadwing you're right, regurgitating is common for all psittacine species and serves as a form of social bonding. Solitary captive birds often resort to practicing this unique bonding behavior with reflections, toys and their owners.
