Andy Rooney calls black people 'Negroes'!

Liberal commentator Andy Rooney has a problem with the frequent use of the term "African-American" and suggests people use the word "Negro" instead to refer to black Americans.

Malcolm X and MLK Jr. used the word "negro" all the time. That's what was used back then. It's just a word.

This is just one of those words, like "Nigger", that it's perfectly OK for them to use to describe each other...but they'll have a shit-fit if a White person uses it. It's just another racial double-standard we've unfortunately started to accept.

There is nothing wong with calling them negros. We are called whites because we are intelligent. My great Grandmother said they had negros working on the farm and liked to be called that.

It's great to be...one word...Latino! Puerto Rican is also okay, ' cause after all, I was BORN in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rican-American? That's ridiculous and way too long. Now, why African-American? Unless you were born in Africa, it just seems absurd. But if that's what some want to be called, cool with me too. "Blacks" is what I grew up with and that's probably what I'll always use, and not trying to offend anyone, nor a derogatory hit on your skin color. American is always best!
