In this "Be Safe" video segment, AMK's wilderness medical consultant Eric A. Weiss, MD, discusses key steps to follow in order to effectively stop serious bleeding.
this is talking about one wound. but you may need large "bloodstopper" dressings, if more than one person gets hurt, or if there are multiple injuries. It's just common sense to carry a lot of dressing changes and materials to stop bleeding, depending on the amount of time your are in the backcountry. This would not be able to handle multiple wounds and as a "doctor" this guy should know that.
For short term, outdoor use the AMK kits are the absolute best ones out there. I've got a 'Comprehensive' at home, and a ultralight .5 for hiking.
Keep up these great vids!
