Australian made Spader specially designed for the broad acre farmer. This machine has been made with the tough Australian conditions in mind. The PROFARM SPADER 4500 has been in and passed a rigorous testing period in the mid west wheat belt (WA) Spading in pre spread clay, incorporating stubbles, medium to heavy gravels and non wetting sands. All components are sourced/manufactured in Australia making the supply and delivery of spare parts cost effective. Ground engaging tools are made locally (Perth WA); prompt turn around is assured when change out time occurs. Currant Machine specs

  • 280HP is ample, there is a torque limiter between tractor and implement. A slip clutch as per a baler is not good enough as when the spader strikes an in the ground object (rock/ tree stumps) it will stop very suddenly. A slip clutch will allow a certain amount of over run, this over run will inturn screw off the tractor's PTO shaft. The torque limiter instantly snaps outs when a pre determind load is applied (3500-4500nm).

  • @Underrule303 ah so even like a 828 fendt with 280 HP would drive it??? and theres a slip-clutch on it like on a baler yeah???

  • @jdman2kp sorry about slow reply I have been working in the PRC and they do not allow youtube there.., There is a 3500nm clutch between the tractor and implement so when the rotor stops / stalls because of hitting a stump/ rock etc it will stop very quickly but the tractor will still be running at 1000rpm. you must then disengage the PTO and reengage the clutch and continue spading.

HP required is not as much as you would think 250 -300 is plenty

  • @Underrule303 oh ok so are they hard on a tractor how much HP would be needed to drive it

  • @jdman2kp Hi, this machine at time of construction cost appox $220,000.00au. It is now about 18months old and has done over 3000hc of spading. It in this time has only had its spades replaced 3 times, the construction and mechanicals are all "off the shelf" componets so can be repaired/ replaced by the local farmer, he/she can buy these parts from any where in the world ( no hard to replace parts etc). This is the only one made (test bed) they can be made on "demand" thank you .

  • Sadly I never did see a Rotary Spading in action in W.A however they are widely used in many European Countries e.g, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Portugal. They tend to use an Imants Rotary Spader.

I believe that Rotary Spading is ideal especially if you want to produce the correct soil structure for seasonal crops. Using a rotary spader over conventional ploughing or mill-till I would expect to see better than average yields.
