Insurance is ANOTHER layer of cost to the consumer...so ur right to a degree..
However, remember that the gov't has no place in efficiency...
Look at the Identity Protection racket where the gov't reaps millions in revenue from consumers grief on an easily fixable condition..Legal actions & gov't oversight..
Law enforcement reaps millions each year in man hours & resources additionally...

The ironic thing is that in some ways we would be better off if there was no health insurance for anyone.
Why? Well because with someone else paying our bill we have very little control over the costs. If there was no insurance involved and a doctor wanted to charge an astronomical amount per visit, people would only pay what they thought was fair.
Just like we do with cable or internet services or anything else.
When we let someone else pay the bill, they are more apt to just pay it.

Obama has a plan; I'm from Canada and our system is incredible. You just need universal healthcare in the States.

Obama is a complete dud. The Canadian plan isn't 'incredible'--otherwise Canadians wouldn't come to the US for healthcare. If Obama screws up our system, you'll have nowhere to go for specialized care.

The 'public option' is just another way that democrats can grow government dependency.

Costs will not go down if the money we continue to use to pay for these services continues to decline in value.

Costs will only go up.

During the Nixon years I remember inflation going double digit whereby he instituted price controls. Back then the sentiment was that prices will only go up. But how does the electronics industry make prices go down? Remember the Betamax @ $2500 only to go down to $500? DVD players from $3,000 down to $40? Yes, forty bucks! And Blu-Ray @ $1,200 down to $150 and falling. LCD TV's $3,000 to $1,100 and falling. How? VOLUME. If everyone in the US with competition is insured the cost will go down.

Thank you Humana for this wonderful video. It's so refreshing to know that the insurance industry is not to blame for our healthcare problems.

Lets be honest though, people don't need health insurance they need health CARE. I'd rather have socialized healthcare than corporate healthcare. When corporate profits come from denying insurance to the sick, flaking out on providing treatments to those who DO have insurance and cornering markets, why should these companies be part of the solution?
