A very late Metro North Train 1844, the scheduled 5:27 shuttle train from South Norwalk to Danbury, departs from Merritt 7 Station en-route to Danbury. Today's consist is a pair of FL9m's 2027 on the point and 2011 trailing, with 3 Shoreline II coaches; 6458 tied in behind 2011, 6348 in the middle, and cab car 6313 on the rear. The reason this train was so late was because there was an air hose that became disconnected between the 2011 and the 6458, which caused the train to dump its air and sit south of Merritt Station for about 20 minutes. The engines are now being shopped. Enjoy the sounds of the horn and the revving of the Fl9's 567C engine. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on March 27th, 2008.

  • I really miss running and hearing these great units.

  • Those are Shoreliner III and IV COACHES

  • what happened to the GP40FH-2's and why does Conn DOT still use the FL9M's with the 567 engines after almost 50 years of service

  • We at the Railroad Museum of New England currently operate the only FL9 in revenue passenger service.

  • Too bad they were ousted. :-(

  • That's very rear to get now. The FL9M's are still alive. Most of our NJ Transit GP40FH-2's are gone.
