'Previously unreleased footage of John F. Kennedy's motorcade in Dallas moments before he was gunned down was released Monday, a surprising new twist in a saga that has gripped the United States for four decades.

The silent 8mm film shows a beaming Jacqueline Kennedy close up in vivid color waving to the crowd.

A group of excited bystanders -- women sporting big 1960s hairstyles -- waves to the cameraman shortly before the motorcade sweeps past.

The president's coat is clearly, if briefly, seen bunched up on his back -- a detail that will be scrutinized by conspiracy theorists who see evidence of a plot in, among other things, the fact the bullet wounds on his jacket and body did not appear to match.

The film was donated to the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas by amateur photographer George Jefferies and his son-in-law, Wayne Graham. It was released to coincide with the Presidents Day federal holiday.'

  • The reason they show the depository is because gentleman that filmed the segment (Jefferies) went back the next day and filmed the Depository. They are two separate days you're watching....they're not continuous.

  • Correct.

  • I was hoping this caught the shooting at another angle and then I realized it was WORTHLESS VIDEO and should be thrown into the GARBAGES.

  • Along with your caps lock key..?

  • Thats spooky and interesting, Jackie and John waving and smiling to the crowd seconds before the fatal shots rang out.

  • The policeman moved everyone back to the curb. When we see them again, they're in the street where they were. And what happened? That's right. Someone got hurt. Remember that next time a policeman tells you to do something.

  • Actually this video is very important because it clearly shows that President Kennedy's suit coat was bunched up around the neckline. This fact would seem to repudiate theories identifying the mismatch between the wound in the President's back and the holes in his suit and shirt as evidence that more than three shots were fired.

  • @howtoruletheworld hahahhahaha!!!! Good one!!

  • @PeterPW STRIGHT INTO THE GARGAGES INDEED!

  • at 0:25 you can see why the so-called "magic" bullet would enter his back and still exit his throat, as well as why the bulletholes would be so low on his obviously bunched up suit jacket and shirt.

  • @smduf Good call. I didn't see that, I thought it was the driver of the followup car. Normally, there would be two police motorcycles flanking the limo, but the crowds were so heavy that they couldn't fit, so they dropped back. In that situation, it was Hill's job to jump off the followup car and run to the back corner of the limo, as he does here. When the crowds lighten and the motorcycles can fit, he returns to the followup car. He actually did that 4 times that day before the shooting.

  • @spev85 Right you are except for the part where the video shows explicitly that Clint Hill is aboard the presidential limo on the left rear bumper. The handles on the trunk are for the secret service and there is a step on the back of the car. Look closely at 0:19. Thats Hill and he is aboard the presidents car right behind jackie.

  • @smduf Good insight. Except for the part where you're completely wrong. Clint actually stated to Arlen Specter of the Warren Commission in response to Specter's question of on which car he was riding on in the motorcade, responded: "I was working the followup car, which is the car immediately behind the Presidential car." Therefore Hill wasn't 5 feet away, but in actuality it was his followup car that he has said several times was never more than 4-5 feet away. Check his testimony.

  • It's crazy that this video turned up in 2007, so many years latter, makes you wonder what else is out there that may one day turn up.

  • Why just why? they killed him? he was such a great man.

Is that democracy in the US?

No moral values in the US, they are in many wars around the planet because they are the creators of war.

We miss Kennedy a president for the world.
