  • why didn't his wife just give him a stupid nickel?

  • @FunPika4

    thanks :)

  • @pufferkuesser97 Because the M.T.A.'s conductor would not let him off until he paid up a nickel that he didn't have because they had implemented a "get off the train fare" since they were too lazy to modify the fare gates for the increase.

  • i didn't understand the song. why did he not get off the train?

  • WHAT ALBUM IS THIS VERSION FROM? I NEED TO KNOW.

  • I remember riding the M.T.A.. for a dime in the mid sixties as a kid. I lived in a little city right next to Boston. We used to go to the Kenmore sq. station and walk up to Fenway Park To see the Sox for a dollar fifty ! I remeber the M.T.A song being played all the time. I saw the Kingston Trio the other night on pbs. It was so great explaining the song to my grandchildren. Thanks for posting !

  • "We really need to invest in a pop guard"

While you're at it you should invest in a photo of yourselves or something other than Kingston Trio. It's misleading.

BTW, pop filters are for people who can carry a melody but can't really sing.

If you actually learn to sing so you project better, you can back a couple of inches farther away from the mic and not need a pop filters. You'll also gain clarity. Your distance to the mic is giving you more problems with the sound than just the pops.

  • @ArtisticwithaK Why not put the nickel in the bag with the sandwich?

  • live version is better i think. this sounds like it is lacking enthusiasm and the joy from playing

  • Why not just hand charlie a nickel?
