Metropolis (2001) Trailer

I have decided that it's just me. I have watched nearly every anime considered essential viewing for American audiences by fans of the art form. I have watched Akira, Ninja Scroll, and most of the films of Hayao Miyazaki. And when each of these films has come to an end, I have the same reaction every time: very pretty to look at, but ultimately, they're nothing but a boring exercise in style. Metropolis fits right in that category.

@Fythless That's true, but in a lot of english dubs, the anime lose something. There's ofc great ones as well but imo most of the dubs are terrible, the voice actors sounds so fake and "dead". I think that's what josji meant as well. But like I said, among all the bad ones there are some really amazing ones too. But in most cases the original language is the better language.

@AlasBabylonxx Princess Monoke was great! Also do you plan to see The Secret World of Arrietty? It was a huge hit in Japan and it just came out in America last friday. Do you like Sailor Moon? I just recently fell in love with Anime and Japanese animated films! Also type in "I can't Stop Loving You by Ray Charles" There was this really touching scene from Metropolis where Kenichi tries to save his robot friend Tima. There is something so powerful with Anime!

@AlasBabylonxx because its fucking english thats why. and a japanese anime with english voiceovers is as bad as a english cowboy movie with german synchronised speech
