  • I'm probably going to piss everyone off by posting this, but...

When the whippoorwill, whippers in the wind, the wind can whipper back, OH NICE AND CHUBBY BABY!

    I'm sorry... I had to.

  • What is the honking noise coming at regular intervals?

  • @RobbytheLion not sure what honking noise you mean, i hear frogs crickets and other birds.

  • What state is this?

  • Kentucky

I sit outside and listen to these guys all spring long, I've heard the same bird call quickly and then slowly within all within a two minute time frame. Not sure why they do this. But, sometimes, it is if they mess up and get ahead of themselves skipping a note. Usually, this is when they stop and fly on to another location. What a nice song to fall asleep to.

  • Thank you Sir, for this little treat. I miss my country home in southern Indiana where I heard these birds all the time! I could sleep to this if I could somehow tape it to run for a few hours! Thanks again...susan

  • Thank you!! I used to lay awake as a child 35 years ago and listen to them, and they'd drive me CRAZY!! Now the sound soothes me, suggesting a time when life was easier, less complicated, and safe. What a great feeling! Thanks again!!
