@Avenger1506 I would say that ethnocentric attitudes may come across on sources like Youtube, or it may serve to offend American tourists, but in reality--those attitudes wouldn't sail here. I have met many Europeans in NYC and they are usually impressed with the place. I met one French guy (not stereotyping) that had an attitude and he dropped it really fast. Ethnocentrism is, at its' core, stupid regardless of what side of the pond it originates.

@1105Chance Yeah i agree people over here in Europe do have a tendency to get very haughty and condescending very fast, when people from the US initially have a lot friendlier approach. Unfortunately a LOT of people mistake that for gullibility or naïvety (which it sometimes is, all things considered) and that's when people get bitter....

@Avenger1506 I think that last sentence could be said of everyone. Most Americans like Europeans because so many of us have European ancestry. Further, we are Western nations so we do share many cultural things in common. We are aware that the US is greatly maligned, we're a very easy target. It's my personal observation that Europeans tend to look down on Americans when in fact Americans would prefer to be friendly. It's easy for people to get stand-offish when denigrating stereotypes are made

@1105Chance personnally haven't seen much ofthe stuff he does so I'll take your word for the media whore.N yeah,french people are extremely biased concerning the US and pretty much the whole world,i never claimed the opposite.The typical frenchman is convinced france is the greatest country there ever was and ever will be, should be the standard in every domain,and believe they have a right to comment on everything.All i'm saying's some people in the US should learn to give credit where it's due
