  • No, you are retarded. Lawyers dont have to "play the game". People choose to be lawyers. They choose to take certain cases. They choose to even use underhanded and dishonest tactics.

They choose to sacrifice a lot, just to become rich. Things like honesty, integrity, and other peoples lives.

  • You're an idiot. Edwards is a perfect example because he sued ob/gyn's in North Carolina for "causing cerebral palsy" in babies.

  • Death to all lawyers

  • They should tax the lawyers who take health care related cases 90% of the 40% they get. The money can go into our health care system. That is one way the Federal government could take care of it without it being a states rights issue.

  • I don't know when this was made, but Dickie Scruggs is currently in jail for attempted judicial bribery/

  • @ca1cifer This is not always true. Depending on your lawsuit, you may be able to invoke some fee shifting. Also, many times the plaintiff has to pay an hourly wage to his/her lawyer, regardless of victory.

  • People who sue have an unfair advantage. If they win they get money. If they lose they lose nothing. If you get sued, you lose money either way. I think the loser of a lawsuit should have to pay all the legal fees. That way, people won't be so quick to sue over dumb things.

  • @wangsta25 - Not when the government is picking the winners and losers.

  • why is John criticizing lawyer's salaries? It's all a person's "profit motive" and their individual freedom to pursue that profit

  • @packerfan748 And as a result, he's not part of his deceased wife's will, going to prison, and is never going to be elected again.

  • 4:00 LOL, hard to believe that guys a good lawyer, lawyers are supposed to be brilliant tacticians when it comes to what they should say, and he just basically admits the possibility that hes the one doing the gouging. "i would say that too if i were gouging someone" "blame it on someone else" pathetic.
