Green Star plans include large production of biofuels, a joint venture with Pure Energy Corporation, and a commitment to build several plants.
Progress on the debate about biofuels is tipping towards supporting the next generation of biofuel industries: algae production, cellulosic ethanol, waste biomass utilization and fully-integrated biorefineries.
We need to burn our garbage and turn that into fuels too. If we turn it into ethanol we could export all our garbage in the form of alcohol to Ireland and Russia at a profit. Of course there might be a slight problem with the flavor of garbage based alcohol.

Hell Yeah! US going be rich, powerful, and strongest economy away from economic crisis. Once US start producing Algae bio diesel all oils are being useless. Algae biodiesel is better than natural gas and oil. Algae bio diesel Rulez!

those who deny global warming are out of touch with times? those who believe it are out of touch with reality. as we've already seen, it's a bunch of manipulated numbers and bullshit. several scientists have already came out exposing what's been going on. the media just keeps going along with it because "politicly correctness" always trumps "actual correctness"....

@GeneralDevestation 20000 lbs of freight. boy. that's an awefully light 18 wheeler.

You know what is funny? There is something to what you say about the noise.
I guarantee if we all had electric cars you'd hear bitching about them being too quiet as people stepped out into the road and got flattened.
These fucking whiners and complainers will never quit... EVER. These people will always exist.
Too bad because that's where society leads to. In the past, you just took a gun, sword, club and off'd the weak.

I agree with you on that. But, I think electric cars are ok in a limited use. For someone who never leaves the city, an electric car would be fine, but it would not work for most Americans. Most Americans would not get enough savings out of an electric car to justify it (since most Americans do a signifigant amount of open road driving). Besides, you can't make an electric car loud and obnoxious like you can an internal consbustion engine. Where's the funs at?

People forget about the taxes on gasoline and diesel that pay for a lot of our road repair costs. With biodiesel and ethanol, the current tax system remains in place. Also, you're not going to see an electric 18 wheeler pulling 20,000 lbs of freight.
People need to knock of the electric car bullshit and move to this technology (gas/electric hybrids to extend mileage is fine...especially for passenger cars).
If we open up trade, we'll get better ethanol from other countries.

You overestimate the government and people in general ;)

There is some weight behind you concern. However, we still have a few hurdles in making cellulose ethanol effiecient. The technology is there, we just need to fine tune it. The public also needs to be sold on the idea too. Politicians and industry leaders need to get behind the idea of cellulose ethanol (and biodiesel from algea) but right now the preference is for corn and soy-based fuels for political reasons. I am also assuming that we will still be working towards conserving fuel too.

your under estimating the population and amount we drive, don't you think if this was capable we would be doing this already
