Racism is not taught; a natural affinity for one's own race and a suspicion of outsiders is a human instinct. It will never disappear, nor should we want it to - it is a vital defence mechanism.

Well done for winning, it's a great idea for a film, I just disagree with the message. Do you think it's right to make money from telling the Emperor how lovely his imaginary clothes are? Some people aren't always able to think for themseleves and believe whatever a film or TV tells them. You shouldn't be peddling lies - suicidal lies.

However, you may be stretching a small concept into a big deal. I made this video to enter the a contest (my first award in my budding film career), and it does reflect how I feel about a topic such as racism. You can't tell me it would have been better to promote racism and just tell people it's hear to stay and deal with it, right?

In the long run, teaching people to manage their feelings, to avoid outbursts, would be better than expecting people to live a lie. You're right, perhaps I'm seeing too much in a short film, but if you make political films you should expect criticism.  Although you're clearly a talented film producer, how can a film that does nothing more than repeat widely held falsehoods have any real substance?

I suppose it wouldn't have too much substance, seeing as how I made this when I was 16 for a high school student contest. One of my first short films.

I'm sure no one taught early groups of people to simply start killing and warring against one another because they appeared different. To me it seems like a natural instinct that we have managed to control, it was progressively worse as you look back in time. We have just managed to control the urge better, not get rid of it.

@joe66746674a It's natural to think others are different and be scared but stereotypes about a whole group comes from learning. Why do many people think all Africans are poor? Or all Chinese children are smart, know kungfu and obedient?

It's unbelievable to me that some of you believe racism to be good and something that must exist. That's just crazy. We need not only focus on racism here. Racism is just another form of discrimination. So you're basically saying all discrimination is just fine and it's how things should be. How is not liking someone for how they look or because they are different, good?

How is hatred a good way to do things? I'm in a wheelchair, should I be discriminated against for it, no! Use your brains people, be serious. You have a poor view of things if this is how you think. Crazy I tell you. Children are not born racist, adults teach them this because children's minds are more logical and reasonable. Children don't see color, they see someone like them, a human being.

In some cases Whites are born with racism because of their collective psyche has a need for conquest and imperialism. Playing as kids is easy, but later on the kids must part ways and become adults. Whites only respect what they cannot conquer. What I say may upset many but history does not lie about a collective. Before anyone discusses racial issues they must learn of the two entities that make up humanity and that is the individual and the collective.

Not only have they exerted their imperialistic ways with us but the entire world. White racism is derived from imperialism. And racism is the tool which they have used to dehumanize those they have conquered. If you conquer and group and want to stay in power over that group you have to take that groups humanity. Black and other minorities racism came as a inevitable result of on going White racism. Now it is up to us as Blacks to not allow that hate to consume us.
