I first heard this as the title track of Joe Cocker's 1994 solo album for Capitol. Great song, the gospel the icing on the cake. :)

There isn't a John Hiatt song that I don't love. Fantastic writer, great singer.

The first time I saw John Hiatt was at Ottawa Bluesfest in '99 when he opened for Booker T and the MG's.

A deluge of rain that never let up, greeted John as he took the stage. The night before, after a Winnipeg show, he was forced to take a number of medical shots to get through a bout of pneumonia.

The man could barely speak, but there he stood, alone, in the rain, with a guitar and piano and performed one of the most riveting shows I'd ever seen.

That my friends was a performance.

Women should learn that every man isn't evil and women screw over guys too.

This might be one of the ten greatest songs ever...
