19 October 2009 KUWAIT: Head of the Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association (KUPHA), Tariq Al-Habeeb, renewed his warning against the swine flu vaccinations' side effects. He said that he refused to take it despite the percentage of protection that it provides, which ranged between 65% and 95%. Al-Habeeb made these comments as a press statement after being asked whether he had changed his stance on the vaccination. He urged the Ministry of HealthMinistry of HealthLoading... to provide the public with details of the side effects before providing it to them.
International organizations have published a list of side effects including muscular and joint pain, headache, swelling, general fatigue, and high fever. The list of side effects also included vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, lightheadedness, anorexia, nerve, and respiratory system complications.
He also revealed that some of the manufacturing companies stated that their products caused an allergic reaction, in addition to increasing the chances of Guillain-Barr? syndrome, and bloodstream infections. He added that certain companies who produce the nasal vaccination said that it causes sinusitis and nasal congestion, and is inadvisable to recommend it for children who are asthmatic or on aspirin.
Al-Habeeb had previously noted that health organizations have not reached a consensus on a single vaccination, even though manufacturing companies have received an approval from them to produce the medication. He also said that the H1N1 treatment could build immunity against the swine flu virus in the future. Al-Watan reported him as saying that an infection coupled with the H1N1 virus could cause several complications in the respiratory and cardiac system, and had the potential to turn serious in patients with chronic diseases.
