Sky Train in Chiba, Japan (HV30 Test 24p)

Chiba is a nice little city located about 45 mintues from central Tokyo.

I just bought a Canon HV30 to finally record my travels in Japan. I've been here for about 10 months now, and I've been dying to document this stuff. The same day I bought this camera, I charged the battery, and headed right for Chiba to test it out.




Expect to see a lot more from me -- especially when I start filming stuff around Tokyo. This Chiba video is just a little teaser compared to all the crazy stuff happening in Tokyo everyday. I can't wait to start filming over there.

For those film tech nerds like me, here'Ss the specs:

Camera - Canon hv30
Mode - Cine
Frame Rate - 24fps
White Balance - Cloudy

For anybody thinking about buying the HV30, GO FOR IT! The image quality is incredible for a camera under $1,000 dollars.

in your opinion which brand of tape is best for this format with the hv30? (sorry for my Inglese "di merda")

no worries, your English is good! I use the Sony Digital HD Video Mini DV tapes. Sony and Canon products are always the best choices for me.

I feel horrible when I watch this in Standard Quality. They should give you the option to choose whether or not it should be viewed in that option.

I hear ya. There's an option in your YouTube Account Settings under "Video Playback Quality" where you can set it so that if the video you're trying to watch has a high quality option, it will automatically play it. Check it out!
