Bible King James Matthew 22:1-14
Mat 22:1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
Mat 22:2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
Mat 22:3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
Mat 22:4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
Mat 22:5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
Mat 22:6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
Mat 22:7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
Mat 22:8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
Mat 22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
Mat 22:10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
Mat 22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
Mat 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
Mat 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be1 weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Jezus zich tot hen met gelijkenissen.
Mat 22:2 Hij zei: 'Het hemelse koninkrijk is te vergelijken met een koning die het bruiloftsfeest van zijn zoon voorbereidde.
Mat 22:3 Hij stuurde zijn dienaars om de gasten voor het feest uit te nodigen, maar zij wilden niet komen.
Mat 22:4 Weer stuurde hij dienaars eropuit met de opdracht: Ga naar de genodigden en zeg: Ik heb de maaltijd klaargemaakt, de stieren en de mestkalveren zijn geslacht, alles staat klaar. Kom naar het bruiloftsfeest!
Mat 22:5 Maar zij trokken zich er niets van aan; iedereen ging weg, de een naar zijn akker, de ander naar zijn handel;
Mat 22:6 weer anderen grepen de dienaars vast, mishandelden hen en doodden hen.
Mat 22:7 De koning werd woedend. Hij stuurde zijn troepen op hen af, liet die moordenaars om het leven brengen en hun stad in brand steken.
Mat 22:8 Tegen zijn dienaars zei hij: Voor het bruiloftsfeest stond alles klaar, maar de genodigden waren het niet waard.
Mat 22:9 Ga dus naar de kruispunten van de wegen en nodig iedereen die je tegenkomt uit voor de bruiloft.
Mat 22:10 En zij gingen eropuit en zij brachten alle mensen mee die ze tegenkwamen, slechte en goede. Zo liep de bruiloftszaal vol met gasten.
Mat 22:11 Toen de koning binnenkwam om zijn gasten te zien, merkte hij iemand op die geen feestkleding droeg.
Mat 22:12 Vriend, hoe ben je hier binnengekomen zonder je voor de bruiloft gekleed te hebben? vroeg de koning hem. Maar de man zweeg.
Mat 22:13 Toen zei de koning tegen zijn dienaars: Bind hem aan handen en voeten en gooi hem eruit, de duisternis in. Daar zal hij huilen en knarsetanden.'
Mat 22:14 En Jezus besloot: 'Want velen zijn uitgenodigd, maar weinigen zijn uitverkoren.

Joh 3:16 Want God had de wereld zo lief dat hij zijn enige Zoon gegeven heeft, opdat iedereen die in hem gelooft, niet verloren gaat maar eeuwig leven heeft.
