  • explanation needed: if the aircraft didn't touch, why did he have to open the parachute? couldn't he keep flying?

  • did he died?

  • He was flying in a pattern, you can tell this early in the video because he is following behind another aircraft at the same level. The crossing Cessna violated the pattern, it's entirely his fault; and he is also is flying an entirely different heading and wasn't at his appropriate +/- vertical separation requirement.

  • beside 'parrot chute'.. what a nice video!

  • it's weird that the pilot doesn't swear

  • @ae4xo Yes I see that. I even put exactly that in my first comment. The poster has since updated his description. Thanks.

  • @willisbr he got hit by a tow cable the other plane was flying with a banner. then he pulled the parachute and it saved his life

  • @cows416 I ah pulla mya parrot chute!

  • I don't have a ballistic chute. I have 15 ft. of garden hose attached to my plane. If I get into trouble, I deploy the hose. As everybody knows, as soon as you start to drag a garden hose it will instantly snag on something. Foolproof!
