@vre655u So arguing against big government means I support the government? Are you smoking pot in Amsterdam right now? I'm not sure I understand how calling social democracy "democracy" is ironic.
And the gov't did not ignore its citizens - no other nation on earth could have mounted the scale of rescue operations that were undertaken. They were delayed several days due to the mayor and governor refusing federal help - both of whom have since been voted out of office.
@vre655u What does the government have to do with you accusing Americans of letting our "brothers and sisters drown in the mud"? Of course the government is incompetent you are making my case for why we should have as little of their "help" as possible.
@vre655u The charitable response to Katrina was overwhelming. Americans give more money to charity than any other group people - your ignorance is astounding.
@vre655u If taking care of each other is the Norwegian way then why do you need high taxes? If it were really true no one would have to force you to do it. Charity under threat of prison is not real charity.
The richest person, Rimi-Hagen, is a whining moron. He is actually praising the Norwegian model outside the country.

@vre655u So 51% forces the other 49% to hand over their money, or else be violently kidnapped and thrown in jail. That is "democracy".
