Article by Chenine Cayetano, WTV Host and Journalist

You may know Sticky Fingaz from only one of several media outlets: the silver screen, the small screen, the hip-hop group Onyx, or music collaborations. Either way, this man is taking the industry by storm. He catches up with What U Need TV to tell us about his upcoming projects, and celebrates the life of Jam Master Jay at the Ninth Annual Hollywood Black Film Festival.

The documentary movie Two Turntables and a Microphone follows the life and death of the legendary Run-D.M.C deejay. Jam Master Jay discovered Sticky Fingaz in the early 90s and took him under his wing, becoming a mentor and close friend. His life is remembered in a dedication in Sticky Fingazs 2008 album DECADE (But Wait, It Gets Worse).

As a rapper, Sticky Fingaz and the group Onyx were arguably the pioneers of making hip-hop music with a grimy voice that makes a crowd want to slam dance, stage dive, throw water (as stated interview with Rap Review). He is currently making the album Black Rock with Onyx. The album will contain a hybrid of sounds, such as hip-hop and rock, as the title suggests. Expect to hear tracks to have the same hard-hitting beats and popularity as Slam.

Beyond the music studio, Sticky Fingaz remains active on-camera. The movie, A Day in the Life (Lionsgate Films) has his name written all over it. The multi-talented man wrote, produced, directed and starred in the film. His vision comes to life with celebrities such as himself, Omar Epps, Malik Barnhardt, Mekhi Phifer, Michael Rapaport, Tyrin Turner, and the list goes on. He stars in many more films that are currently in production and post-production.

Watch the interview to see Sticky Fingaz candid on the red carpet.
