Business idea: buy a small hill in Alaska, pay some people about a mile away to fly a hammer and sickle flag, put on furry hats and thick coats and do some cossack dancing (you could pay them in vodka, the drunker the better), and hire out binoculars to tourists.

For added effect, you could allow the tourists to fire "cruise missiles" filled with water at Ivan.

You absolutely can see Russian Land from Alaskan land. Those that find this ridiculous need to bone up on their geography. I grew up in northern NY, 30 miles from Quebec and Ontario. I know a lot about Canadian politics.
