VW TDI is extremely efficient. Its fun drivin it. Hybrid can not compare with it and is not more environment friendly.
Only one better way: bycicle.
I like both: my bycicle and my 7seater TDI (60 mpg)

Hybrid cars are not in the least environment friendly, cause at the form of recycling the batteries tons of CO2 are getting emitted..so the environment friendly car is definetely the VW

It's not about being Japanese. It's because Toyota Prius is a some kind of icon for "clean cars".

Prius is so booooring, looks like a coffin on wheels, drives like a friggen streetcar not an actual car, grandpa like ride pfffffffff.
Diesels been around since 1892 there's a reason they're still so popular, not only in cars.
