1: By the end of Bush Sr's term in the White House, America was experiencing an economic recession.

2: The Clinton administration saw unprecedented economic growth, replacing the national debt with an enormous surplus (something that was considered impossible under conservative rule).

3: Once things got good, Bush jr got into office and plunged us into war and economic recession again.

The Republicans do things that shock society, like go to illegal war and try to justify it with words like "freedom", "democracy", etc.

The Democrats do the same things, though they keep it quiet. Look into the wars John F Kennedy, political "savior", and Bill Clinton started.

They were both considered "liberal", yet they did a lot of the things "conservatives" did.

I'm also much opposed to the neoconservatice and neoliberals schools of though, look at what NAFTA brought us.

Abraham Lincoln was a liberal... than Conservatives adopted his views and turned a radical idea into a conservative one...why is it that at the RNC they made the word liberal out to be like commie, to have liberal ideas are to have radical new ideas for human progress, not the same old bullshit. and thus is the story of Human Progression. the ideas of john locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau were once liberal concepts... now their fundamentals in American belief.
