The 66th Annual Zulu Parade with Himas "Flo" Anckle and his Majestic Brass Band, featuring, among others, Nathaniel Gray and Lawrence Trotter. Shot by Alan Lomax and crew, New Orleans, May 1982. This isn't THE Zulu parade. That takes place on Mardi Gras day in February. This is a normal secondline parade held on Sundays. This one is sponsored by the Zulu organization. Its astounding how little has changed in thirty years. This footage could have been taken this past week and you would have a hard time knowing the difference.
