  • best show ever

  • whoa!

never seen THIS one before. when did THIS stage show get created?

  • Hmm, well, yeah, I guess I might have been jumping at conclusions, only having seen one minute of the show. I think what I meant to say was that I feel this will never quite capture the spirit of Garfield like the comic strips and animated TV specials do (something which, of course, also has to do with the fact that the character was created for a drawn medium). But I see what you mean about jumping the gun. Since I live in Norway, I'll likely not catch it live very soon though, but, oh well;)

  • Mesterius1,

You might be jumping the gun here. The entire show is over 60 minutes long and features plenty of Garfield's wit and sarcasm. It's true that in this 1 minute video you just happen to be catching probably THE most sentimental Garfield line in the whole live production - but the rest of the show if filled with plenty of "Garfield being Garfield". I hope you get to catch the Show the next time it's in your area. Sure - it's for kids - but bigger kids like us like it too !!

  • Man... how sugar-sweet can you get? Garfield's famous quote - "It's not about the giving. It's not about the getting. It's about the loving." - is way too sentimental for his character without the line which followed it in the original animated TV special: "There. I've said it. Now get outta here." Garfield is, at heart, a good guy, but he doesn't open up his soft side very often. This show feels a bit dumbed down for kids, and doesn't capture what Garfield is really about.
