@2OLDNGRAY this is one of the reasons i love technology !!! The average joe who's dad was a hard working man was so connected to the history of the PE cars even if it was scrapping them... im just a guy living in the shady part of long beach but i grew up right by the former pe right of way and always been fascinated pe cars ..thanks for sharing

@CoasterFan2105 I see, there are actually some of both. You don't see the P.E.'s until about half way through

@2OLDNGRAY You can tell by the pattern of the paint that these are all in the "fruit salad" scheme of the LA MTA. Unless they repainted all of these, I doubt they were P.E. They look like a mix of "H" and "K" class cars

ummm............OUCH ??? lol

Actually most of the cars seen, and all that the actors go in, are LA Transit Lines (former LA Rwy) yellow cars.
All I know is that the company that my Dad worked at (He is the one in the crain in the movie) was National Metal & Steel next to the old Ford plant in Terminal Island. They got the contract to scrap them all, including the rails that ran down the center of Long Beach Blvd in LB. I stil have a small section of rail. You don't see them all in the movie. My quess was several hundred where stacked everywhere.

Dear Linda69P
These were red. My Dad worked as a crane operator at National Metal at Terminal Island who got the contract to scrap them. He is also the one that was operating the crane in the movie. As a kid, I played in them and ended up with a piece of the rail and a couple of other things. As seen in the movie, most of the metal as already been removed. I tried to talk my dad into taking home several things, but we would have had to pay the scrap value. It would have been worth it.
