Now this is a coicidence! I had this dessert in an Indian restaurant some years ago and didn't have any idea what I was eating but I found them delicious. And here you are with the recipes.

@fatimahnasir baking powder and baking soda are quite diffrent that might POSSIBLY be your problem :/

Hi, they look nice but I'm English and I've found many "world" desserts to be far too sweet compared to ours - are these very sweet ???

HELP WANTED... i made the gulab jamun but i think something went wrong the balls sank they never came up and now its hard... i did use baking powder instead of baking soda are they different .. please help titli

@fatimahnasir Did they fizz when you fried them? If not, your oil temperature may have been just a bit too low. I'm not sure that using baking powder instead of soda would cause a problem :-/
