I had a video of Robert that I got from somebody at Galaxy Models in Ipswich, England. I even got to meet John as he was in the store one day when I rode my motorcycle (Honda VF1000F) up from RAF Lakenheath to get hobby stuff. I watched that video so many times and tried like hell to fly my Competitor like he did. I also ended up with a flybarless Legend that was a machine ahead of its time. Thank you John and Robert for inspiring me and now my 2 sons, since 1986.

Robert Gorham was my inspiration back in 1985. Of course, I had a Competitor and tried like hell to fly like him. Robert really blazed a trail for all of us. Thank you Robert, to you and your Dad for the fun that I now share with my two sons.

Rob,
Thank you for doing what no one could back then... You inspired me into RC helicopters. I still fly a GMP Legend flybarless. I hope all is well.
