Drew Barrymore Prop 8 Speech 5/26/09

Drew Barrymore at the Prop 8 protest rally in West Hollywood on May 25, 2009. I'm SUPER pissed that it's such low quality. What happened is that in all my excitement, I accidentally set my movies into "compact mode" (aka "shitty mode"). Of course it ONLY happened with this one. :/

I thought I'd write out what she said because I know it's hard to hear in places.

"I'm honored(?) to be in this march! With every step that we take, may it chip away at people who put these hurdles in our path. I am defined by gay people my entire life. Children need families, people need to be in love, and we have to take steps forward not backward. I want to live in a world where Prop 8 doesn't exist, and I ask these people "what defines a family?" WE DO! Thank you, I'm honored to be in your presence!
