Oklahoma will never lead the nation in biofuels because they are such a bass ackwards part of the country. The majority of fueling stations advertise "NO ETHANOL" while if you go up to Kansas and Nebraska, they have FFPs that have E20 E30 E50 which some of these blends get BETTER MPG than regular unleaded. Oklahoma is 40 years behind the rest of the country because of thier politics.
@voyeurdug : there are now many different car companies offering flex fuel cars, that run 85% ethanol because of research like this. Oil companies have alot of goons though....
This story needs follow-ups on a regular basis, along with tie-ins to solar- and wind-power... and how individuals can invest in production facilities for all of them.
The hyper-expensive pilot projects have been around for decades and decades, with nothing to show for the investment than costly reports that gather dust in ag school library shelves.
