That is a great looking pipe that is featured in this video, what is that?

I am glad that you posted this video, English charm regarding issues is a welcome tone to my ear.

I have always wondered if someone could have their own " personal " pipe smoking room...building...pub. Charge people a " membership fee " that would cover the ale and the tobacco would be BYOT ( Bring Your Own Tobacco ). Are there any laws in England or America that you know of agaist that??

Hello Eric,

The pipe was made for Astley's by Charatan in 1950's. Astley was an upmarket pipe shop in a rather exclusive part of London. I got it on ebay! I like your idea mate.

I agree. Well said. Here in the states, I am bombarded, usually about dinner time, with an add showing a smokers brain who had a stroke at 38 being cut open. Disgusting.  And despicible.

I have no idea why they don't just have properly ventilated and separated, licensed smoking rooms. There's a certain amount of hypocrisy, considering that they believe second hand smoke is so dangerous and they're forcing smokers to congregate in the entrances/exits of public venues. I never used to smoke until I discovered that the occasional cigar was relaxing. Now I smoke a pipe and to be honest most people who see me smoking my pipe like it and talk lengthily with me about it.

Sorry to go so far unto the past but I must say how true what you said here is. "They" being the people who hold the reins of power n this country seem to regard the people as a homogenous mass of dullards to be instructed in all areas of life - Look at the minimum pricing of alcohol in Scotland announced today - bonkers - Anyway It's a weird set of priorities that allows hundreds of kids to die on the roads year after year but regards smoking in front of them as a capital offence!!!

Well said. When they banned firearm ownership in England I said that's the end of freedom there. Polititians don't ban firearms to protect peoples' safety, they ban then to protect themselves from revolution after they destroy peoples freedom.

You said it all my friend . Tim , I'm 9 yrs older than you and live in the USA . This country is unrecognizable from when I was a child and a young adult . So many freedoms and personal rights have been taken away , taxes passed that destroy small businesses or put a burden on the poor . Personal freedom is an endangered species . Well, I wouldn't have the job.

I have always been raised to dislike the USSR, but after their fall, I have seen the western freedoms fall as well. It is almost that once the Soviets were out of the way, these governments were free to go after the average person! I distrust my government more than I would ever distrust a Russian!

I hope that came out right. Russians are ok, the government that taught me to hate them is RUBBISH!

because of this last tyrant tax on cigarettes I have started burning plastics and killing trees, but I had to stop smoking so I should live longer and burn more plastics over more years.anti-smoking tyrants plan kinda backfired eh? sorry but this is how I react to tyrants

I like this video, when the Berlin Wall fell I was living in England as well...only I was 4 LOL.

but any way here in the United States we cannot smoke in bars some states even smoke shops and in Ohio you cannot even smoke in your own car, In West Virginia where Live the bars don't allow you to smoke, but they do it any way at the risk of massive fines and losing their license.
