Halls of Learning's robotics project in Jones Town provided the inspiration for Robotics Stimul-I. Struck by the people and images encountered through our work, we share with you a photo essay and inspired poetry both titled,

Inside Jamaica:

Each day we pass these faces
Living
in their confined spaces
Sometimes surrounded by waste
Most of them growing
with the taste
Of sufferation and despair
And then add violence,
gunshots ring
through the air
But still hardworking
and full of pride
So even in their eyes,
they cannot hide
The feigning of hope
And so, they cope
Some waiting and singing
"betta mus come"
Some sacrificing and plodding
for the better, to come
Some wishing for the wings
of a dove
Most surviving on the fumes
of love
Look inside Jamaica and see
the crying need
It might not be
your neighbour,
but you should take heed

  • @junglejammin with your affliction, i'm sure you're smart enough to find answers to your questions. what seems extreme is "the norm" for some people....as much as you would like project a reality which ignores that....but you already know that. Instead of focusing your energy on your talent....you make time to criticize the works that you have not undertaken. jungle jamming in iraq.....yeah, real authentic....keep it moving on your enlightenment quest too.

  • @Caribbeanprincess1 that is so true ! idk why!

  • @jamgirlsworld stfu dumb idiot wtf you think it is damn retard your not funny

  • @twhopac thats true. So that goes to show you that we should not build our lives on what this world can offer us

  • The Jamaican government has reached their millenium goal to reduced poverty to half from 30% to 15%. Thats a positive news to report.

  • is this the dutch artist anouk?? r u dutch? nice songg.. i feel sadd watchin dis video ya

  • @hallsoflearning , It is so sad that most of these people MISS the entire message. They would like to pretend that these people are happy being poor or that this is all propaganda, guess it's denial. While Jamaica is home to some of the most beautiful people and scenery, it's also home to some of the poorest and most abused human beings. I have been back to JA and find myself giving more than I have because I was so heart broken. The tourist image is all they want to promote.Thank you

  • Nobody Fi Blame But Babylon Fi Di Problem Dhat Ah Gwan iNNa Jamaica. Hope iLive Fi See Di Day When Di Bigga Dem Fall

  • More Time spent in JA is Education Enough. Moneys Hard in Jamaica But its not always about Gold in the Tropical paradise,Culture is the Best food Often!
