Slideshow of my first strip down and rebuild of a bike.. My girlfriends old Yamaha TW125. We bought it in a bit of a tatty state with a very loose head bearing but it did her proud and got her through her bike test. She has since moved on to a Suzuki SV650 so I decided to treat the TW to a good clean, service and lick of paint...

Superb little bike for beginners or as a bit of fun.. My normal ride is a Speed Triple 955, but the TW still manages to raise a smile :o)

  • I'm sure you'll love it when you get it back. Don't expect it to be very quick though. They're just great fun to ride and really turn heads :o)

  • @Iforsdyke I can get my TW up to 70 at a push but there's very little acceleration beyond 40 so 70mph duel carrageways can be a little scary on it. That said, it's a great 1st bike to learn on. I'm moving on to a Hornet 600 soon but i'll be sad to see my little TW go!

@markspeedtriple Great video made for a great bike. Thanks mate!

  • @Flea3po1983 thanks for your comment... still miss this little bike and would love to get another one as a weekend toy at some point

  • i was told it's super slow! xD but it's not, is it?

  • @Poltergeyst TW's aren't very quick but they keep up with the traffic and it would cruise at 60-65 with me on. It will go pretty quick if you keep the revs up

  • wow greaT!

  • @bboykiddinamit1 thank you :o) glad you like it

  • just got myself a tw125 and i love it! it's in the workshop at the moment as it dropped a valve. only got up to 55mph but that may have been due to the valve. it is having a new piston kit, new valve and a few other little bits so hopefully it will improve its top end. thinking of respraying it too. nice video, decals look cool too!

  • @Flea3po1983 i can never bring my self to get rid of mine lol

  • @lforsdyke It used to get to 70+ regularly with my girlfriend on board but struggled a bit with me on... I'm 6'2" so a bit big for the bike really. It would happily sit at 60mph though and would get to 70 with a following wind and with my chin on the tank! :o) Not a very quick bike but it kept up with the traffic
